The first Combat Officer's Course, of 5 weeks duration (20 Feb - 2 April 1969), held at the Canadian Provost Corps School was primairly
for junior Military Police commissioned officers. It was designed and organized under the watchful eye of the British Royal Military Police
(RMP) ex-change officer, then Captain (retired Colonel) Richard (Dick) Bland.
Colonel Bland states: he had been told in late November
of 1968 that he was to design the course from scratch (assisted by Lt Nicol, ex-Brit Int Corps who joined the C Int C) and then run it; the
first joint Intelligence and Security course of its kind.
