Members of No.1 Provost Company (RCMP) en route to England - 1939.

In the above photo six members of No.1 Provost Company (RCMP), are shown aboard a ship in 1939 en route to England to provide police and security support to the 1st Canadian Division at the beginning of World War Two. In 1939 the original members of No.1 Provost Company (RCMP) were all volunteers seconded from the ranks of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, thus forming the very first Provost Unit of WWII.
