The initial RCMP Shoulder Flash worn by N0.1 Company (RCMP) - 39/40, is shown on the left sewn on an armlet depicting the red 1st Canadian Division patch and Corporal chevrons. It was worn by the late Sergeant Gordon Canning, an original member of No.1 Provost Company (RCMP) and was made available by his son, Bryan Canning. In 1940 the RCMP shoulderflash was subsequently replaced by a Canadian Provost Corps shoulder flash which is depicted above. Following WWII this version was replaced by a more streamlined pattern shown below.
