At The
70 Anniversary Of D-Day, Normandy, France, 06 June 2014

Lieutenant Colonel (retired) George (Wilky) Wilkinson, attended the 70th Anniversary of the D-Day Landings in Normandy on the 06 June 2014, a momentous occasion for him as he participated in the Juno Beach landing with the Canadians on the 06 June1944. George also laid a wreath on behalf of Veterans Of Canada at the 07 June ceremony at Bretteville-sur-Laize, France. George was accompanied by his son Patrick, throughout this pilgrimage. Patrick said that the Veterans were well received by the French people and were asked for autographs and pictures, and as well; people applauded when they entered restaurants. George, at age 96, found the trip to be somewhat tiring, however; he persevered as he has always done and once again, proudly represented his Country.

Patrick sent along some photographs of his Father's trip to Normandy which are outlined below.
