Former member of the Canadian Provost Corps, Sergeant (retired) Donald Mackey, CD, OM, of Winnipeg, Manitoba
was awarded the Order Of Manitoba in recognition of his many volunteer services to Veterans in his community.
In 2002, Don, in his capacity as the Chairman of the Sgt Tommy Prince, MM, (a decorated WWII and Korean War
Veteran) Memorial Fund Committee, was instrumental in raising funds in support of the commissioning of 5
aboriginal wall murals at the intersection of Sgt Tommy Prince Street, Selkirk Ave, Winnipeg and also raised
funds for the Tommy Prince Monument in Veterans' Park (Military Plaza) on Selkirk Ave. He is a Life Member Of
The Army Cadet League Of Canada. Furthermore; in 2006, In conjunction with the Army Cadet League Of Canada
(Manitoba), Don raised sufficient funds to establish a Tommy Prince $1,000 annual Achievement grant
to be awarded to 5 Army Cadet Corps in the province.
Such is indicative of Don's efforts in fund raising and he has received many other awards over the years for
his charitable work in support of Veterans and the Army Cadets. The Canadian Provost Corps is proud to be
associated with a man of Don Mackey's caliber who served 15 years in our Corps (1951 - 1965).
